Pierre Poilievre Attends Major Chinese Community Event, Focusing on Public Safety and Livelihood

MARKHAM, ON – September 27 – The Alliance of Chinese Conservatives (AOCC) held a Chinese community meet-and-greet with Federal Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre in Markham today. Several federal Members of Parliament were also present to engage with the public and listen to their concerns, creating a lively atmosphere at the event.

The theme of the meet-and-greet was "rebuilding safe communities." Poilievre emphasized that community safety is the foundation for residents to live and thrive. He stated that parents should feel secure letting their children play in neighborhood parks without worrying about stepping on used needles, and residents should be able to sleep peacefully at night without fearing car theft or home invasions.

With community safety continuing to deteriorate, Poilievre noted that the Conservative Party will push for policies to ban drugs, incarcerate criminals, crack down on repeat offenders, and properly manage the immigration system.

Addressing the soaring national deficit, high inflation, and growing employment challenges, Poilievre stressed that the Conservative Party prioritizes people’s livelihoods. The party advocates for reducing fiscal waste, lowering taxes, increasing purchasing power, and restoring Canada’s promise of a better life for its citizens.

This event was the first major gathering organized by Chinese community groups since the federal Parliament resumed in mid-September. This session has drawn significant attention, focusing on key issues such as the federal budget and deficit, economic challenges facing Canada amid trade disputes, and public concerns about affordability.

At the meet-and-greet, MPs Vincent Ho (Richmond Hill South), Anna Roberts (King-Vaughan), Sandra Cobena (Newmarket-Aurora), and Amarjeet Gill (Brampton West) were present to interact with residents and address their concerns.
