Alliance of Chinese Conservatives Successfully Hosts Community Meet-and-Greet with Pierre Poilievre
On August 14, 2026, the Alliance of Chinese Conservatives (AOCC) hosted a community meet-and-greet at Farm and Supermarket in Richmond, bringing federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre together with representatives of the Chinese Canadian community from across Greater Vancouver. Richmond Centre—Marpole Member of Parliament Chak Au served as the event’s host. Nearly 200 people attended, creating an enthusiastic and energetic atmosphere.

During the event, Poilievre delivered remarks recognizing the outstanding contributions that Chinese Canadians have made to Canada’s nation-building and economic development. He also praised the Alliance of Chinese Conservatives for remaining firmly grounded in conservative principles while working to unite the Chinese Canadian community.
Poilievre noted that AOCC’s commitment to defending traditional values and promoting freedom, personal responsibility, and community prosperity closely aligns with the core principles of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Pointing to an AOCC display beside the stage, Poilievre said:
“These are the values you have, these are the values conservatives have, and these are the values that the Alliance of Chinese Conservatives have promoted through let’s stand shoulder to shoulder to preserve Canada’s heritage and, and together to build a more prosperous future. What more patriotic message than that?”

Poilievre highlights values he associates with the Chinese Canadian community, including strong families, hard work, entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and service to others. He argues that these principles closely reflect both Canada’s founding traditions and conservative values. Through personal anecdotes and stories from his travels, he describes the growing pressures facing ordinary Canadians.
Affordability and the economy: He criticizes high taxes, government deficits, and inflation for increasing the cost of housing, food, and everyday necessities.
Housing and development: He calls for fewer bureaucratic barriers and faster housing approvals so that young Canadians and newcomers have a better opportunity to own a home.
Public safety: He highlights violent crime, repeat offenders, and crimes committed by individuals released on bail. He advocates a stricter “jail, not bail” approach for dangerous repeat offenders.
Immigration and professional credentials: While recognizing immigrants’ contributions, he notes that many internationally trained doctors, engineers, architects, and other professionals cannot work in their fields after arriving in Canada. He supports faster recognition of qualified foreign credentials.
Shared values and civic participation: He encourages Chinese Canadians to participate actively in public life and advance the shared values of family responsibility, hard work, freedom, opportunity, and the rule of law.

The successful meet-and-greet further strengthened the relationship between the federal Conservative Party and the Chinese Canadian community in Greater Vancouver. It also demonstrated the community’s determination to participate actively in Canadian political life and defend shared values.
The Alliance of Chinese Conservatives stated that it will continue building platforms that enable the Chinese Canadian community to play a greater role in federal politics.
