Seminar Background and Summary:
Since the implementation of Canada's multiculturalism policy in the 1980s, significant challenges have emerged over time. This has been particularly pronounced under the current Liberal government's immigration policies, which have led to a large influx of immigrants and temporary residents. Navigating how to preserve core values and traditional civil order within this multicultural framework has become an undeniable and pressing issue.
This seminar will explore the historical origins of Canadian multiculturalism, its policy evolution, and the primary challenges it faces today. Through an in-depth analysis of the cultural interaction and integration among different ethnic groups, we will contemplate the future direction and cohesion of our diverse society.
